Sepia-toned Masonic carte-de-visite photograph. Full length portrait of man standing and wearing a black coat, pants, and shoes; white shirt, and Masonic sash and apron. Sash is white; apron is white, with a gray flap. Apron has several Masonic symbols, including columns, on the main body, along with a square and compasses symbol on the flap. He has a Senior Warden's plumb jewel hanging from his neck. His right hand is on top of a white column pedestal, which also has a hat and an ornately decorated piece of fabric on it. Handwritten on the back in pencil is "Senior Warden / B Blue Lodge A / c 1870." Printed in brown on the back is "11 / Back Row Hawick / W. Beattie / Photographer / Negatives kept copies may be had."
