Sepia-toned Masonic Knights Templar carte-de-visite photograph. Full length portrait of a man with mutton chops standing and wearing a black frock coat and pants, black shoes, white shirt, patterned tie, and Knights Templar chapeau-de-bras, gauntlets, belt, and sash or baldric. His chapeau-de-bras is black, with a white feather on top. His gauntlets are white, with three buttons on the cuff of each. His sash is also white, with a black border, and a nine-pointed star with a cross inside. His belt is black, with an elliptical buckle with a number "33" inside. A sheathed sword hangs from his belt, as does a chain that connects the sword to the belt. The man is posing in front of a landscape painting, and is resting his right arm on a rectangular pedestal. There are two ivy branches in front of the pedestal. Printed in black on the back are "Nims, / Photographer, / Fort Edward, / N.Y." and "Additional copies can be had at any time / by sending name and No. ..." The latter text is immediately followed by a handwritten number "18508" in pencil.
