Sepia-toned Masonic carte-de-visite photograph. Three-quarter length portrait of an unidentified man wearing a black top hat, black coat and pants, white shirt, patterned necktie, a Masonic collar and Masonic apron. The collar has fringe and a Grand Master's jewel (square) hanging from its point. The ornate apron is fringed along the bottom. At center of the body is a wreath around a square and quadrant symbol. To the left is a table with a dark tablecloth; the border is a Greek key design. Printed in black on the back is "Keyes & Chiverton, / Photographers, / Dixon, Ill. / Old pictures copied and enlarged to any size de- / sired. Handwritten in pencil above the printing is "A Grand Master of / A Masonic Grand Lodge / Note top hat, Grand / jewel around neck and / Masters device apron / circa 1866-1870."
