Washington as a Freemason chromolithograph; scene shows George Washington as Master, wearing Masonic apron, standing beneath arch; motifs include portraits of Lafayette, "An Order Whose Leading Star is Philanthropy," Jackson, "Past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Tennessee," Biblical and Masonic scenes; arch reads "WASHINGTON AS A FREEMASON"; under central design reads "Commander of the American Army, 1775, President of the United States 1789 / Initiated November 4th 1752 in Fredricksburg Lodge No. 4 Virginia, Passed March 3rd 1753 Raised August 4th 1753"; on plinth, "Awake not his slumbers tread lightly around / Tis the Grave of a Freeman, tis Liberty's mound. / Thy Name is immortal, our freedom you won / Brave Sire of Columbia, our own Washington...Let him rest undistrubed on Potomac's fair shore / On the rivers green border, so flowerly drest / With the hearts he loved fondly, let Washington rest."
