Washington Closing the Lodge chromolithograph; George Washington is shown standing on a dias in a Masonic lodge, in an attitude of benediction; on his right is a setting maul on a pedestal, with a level leaning against the base; on his left is a table, with a trowel laid atop books piled on a document, leaning against the table leg is a level and a 24-inch marking gauge; in the background are three pillars (Doric, Ionic, Corinthian), and a Master's chair carved with Solomon's seal; Washington wears civilian dress, tricorn hat, Masonic collar with Worshipful Master's jewel (square), and Masonic apron.
