Hand-colored black-and-white stereophotograph or stereocard mounted on a peach or buff-colored card, showing a girl and a boy in front of a well. The girl and the boy are facing each other in front of the well, with the girl on the left side of each image. She is wearing a white bonnet or bandanna, a brown blouse, a red skirt, white socks, and black shoes. She appears to be crying. The boy is wearing a white shirt with a magenta neckerchief or scarf, and blue trousers. His right hand is up against his head. On the ground between the two children, there is a bucket that has broken, presumably after one of the children dropped it. There is a fallen tree behind the children, and in front of the well. On the right side of each image, behind the fallen tree, there is a rock. Printed in brown along the left front edge of the card is "Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1872, by F.G. Weller, in the / Office of the Librarian of Congress, at Washington." Printed in black on the back of the card is "Stereoscopic treasures. / Sorrow shared, is diminished half - - No. 359, / Published by F.G. Weller, Littleton, N.H., / Photographer of White Mountain Scenery, also views of Frost, Ice, Flowers, Sporting / Scenes, and Miscellaneous Subjects."
