Masonic Centennial quilt composed of 100 blocks in the same two brown and orange fabrics. 96 blocks are hand-pieced in an eight-point star pattern. The four center blocks are appliqued. Two have Masonic square and compasses symbols, one has "1776," and one has "1876." The blocks are seven inches square and are sashed with a 1 3/4 inch pieced strip - white printed ground with orange printed diamonds. One outer border is also 1 3/4 inches and pieced in the same pattern and fabrics as the sashing. The quilt is backed with three pieces of muslin. The cotton binding is straight-applied with curved corners. Thin batting. Hand-quilted at 8 stitches per inch in outline and ovals.
