"Here We Are Again" (see poem "Santa Claus Belated" on back). The jolly figure of Santa Claus salutes the bowing figure of 1878, who drops "Happy New Year" greetings from his hat. Three contented cats sleep in front of the blazing fireplace which is decorated with Christmas greenery and children's toy-filled stockings hang from the mantle shelf. The figure of 1878, dressed as a clown, sports a bald head with a fluff of front locks. Santa had arrived an hour late, (and scolds the New Year for arriving early), claiming Santa does have a full week to bring Peace on Earth to the whole world. From Harper's Weekly, Jan 5, 1878.
