Lantern slide in black and white. Central image shows two groups of men with guns firing on each other. There are buildings in the background. At least two men lie on the ground, dead or wounded; others are hit and smoke is visible. A label printed in black is applied to one end of the slide and reads, "Boston Massacre, 1770." A label printed in black applied to the other end of the slide reads, "A.D. Handy, Stereopticons & Supplies, 17 Bromfield St., Boston." Handwritten in black ink on this label is "1765-1774."
