Badge, Teutonia Encampment No. 55, Rochester, NY, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. OBVERSE: Gold-colored metal pin bar features decoratively shaped frame structure with an insert of white plastic-coated paper (likely) featuring a printed image of clasped hands in blue, black, and peach tones. Suspended from pin bar back is a black ribbon, likely silk, with stamped silver text, "IN MEMORIAM / TEUTONIA ENCAMPMENT / No. 55 / I. O. O. F. / ROCHESTER / N. Y.". Suspended from pleated lower end of ribbon via clasp with rotating o-ring is gold-colored metal pendant, likely brass. Pendant has a shield-like shape with a narrow tip and wing-like sides to accommodate central design of tent with open front flaps with a three-link chain symbol at top and two crossed shepherds' crooks overlaid. Raised scroll-like border decorates edges of pendant. REVERSE: Pin bar features eight folded-over tips holding front plate on to back, and two spring-hinged pin bars, one for pinning badge to clothing and the other which suspends ribbon. Purple ribbon, sewn to front black ribbon at top with purple thread, features stamped gold text "TEUTONIA ENCAMPMENT / No. 55 / I. O. O. F. / [decorative dot-like design] / ROCHESTER / N. Y.". Suspended from pleated lower end of ribbon via clasp, gold-colored metal pendant has smooth surface with small circular engraved text in center "BASTIAN BROS. CO. / ROCHESTER, N.Y.", surrounding a shield with the letters "M.P.B" over central bar and "P.I.U" under it.
