Lantern slide in black and white. Image shows a man lying on the ground while several men and a woman look on. Some of the men are armed with swords and are approaching the man on the floor. A woman in white robes kneels on the floor and has her hand extended to stop the armored men. A label printed in black is applied to one end of the slide and reads, "Cortez's Clemency to Montezuma." A label printed in black applied to the other end of the slide reads, "A.D. Handy, Stereopticons & Supplies, 17 Bromfield St., Boston." Handwritten in black on this label is "Period 1492-1542."
