Masonic Master Mason apron with square body and triangular flap has metal symbols on front; silver all-seeing eye inside diamond on flap; ladder, beehive, square and compasses, plumb, level, square, anchor, coffin, pavement; copper columns, "G", heart, altar, wheat, broken columns on body; gold bullion fringe along bottom; under flap in pen "Made in 1896 / Property of Erwin J. Roberts"; silk lining on flap; cotton backing.

This apron presents a common arrangement of Masonic symbols made out of uncommon materials. The symbols were cut out of sheets of metal—primarily silver and brass, some of it colored—and then engraved with details. Metal tabs fix the emblems to the apron. This apron belonged to Erwin J. Roberts (1869-d. after 1930) who worked in the restaurant business in North Adams, Massachusetts, and was a member of Lafayette Lodge in the same town.
