Masonic Knights Templar Ribbon; blue silk ribbon with gilt pin bar and crossed swords hanger; fringed bottom edge; silver printing, reads "Portland/ and/ St. Alban/ Commanderies'/ Pilgrimage/ to/ Isle of Shoals./ St. John's Day,/ June 24, 1898."; reverse printed: "Whitehead & Hoag Co./ Newark, New Jersey"; white printed label noting patent dates for badge bar, waving flag, medallions, designs and other patents.


Since the mid-1800s, organizers of Masonic events have commissioned brightly colored ribbon badges to identify members of a group and to serve as a souvenir of a special occasion. This ribbon commemorates a Masonic pilgrimage to the Isle of Shoals in New Hampshire.
