McKinley-Roosevelt Campaign Button. Round pin-back button with black and white images of McKinley and Roosevelt (busts only) on front, "MCKINLEY & ROOSEVELT" in arc above, stars and stripes behind in red, white, and blue with yellow background.

Pin-back buttons, patented in the 1890s, became a popular campaign tool for politicians. They often featured slogans, names, symbols, and photographs of candidates. These pins used during McKinley’s 1896 and 1900 presidential campaigns, feature his running mates Garret Hobart (1844-1899) and Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919), and his many popular campaign slogans.
