The monument is on dirt with grass surrounding it. Behind the monument there are several trees; further behind there is a two story house. There are more trees and houses in the distance on the proper left edge of the photograph. The monument is carved with a musket across the top with a horn hanging from it. Below the musket reads, "Line of the Minute Men / April 19 1775 / Stand your ground / Don't fire unless fired upon / But if they mean to have a war / Let it begin here / Captain Parker."
