Political campaign banner for Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919) and Charles W. Fairbanks (1852-1918); black and white portraits of candidates in red oval frames; legend reads "For / President / Theodore Roosevelt / 1904 / For Vice President / Chas. W. Fairbanks / 1904 / Protection to American Industries"; black and white eagle at top holding United States shield and flags; red, white, black and blue colors; wooden frame with glass.

As the sitting president in 1904, Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919) honored the unspoken rule against open presidential participation in his campaign. Roosevelt was only the second vice president to become president. Considered one of the dullest presidential contests in history, Republican Roosevelt dominated the 1904 campaign, beating Democrat Alton B. Parker (1852-1926).
