Political campaign banner for Alton B. Parker (1852-1926) and Henry G. Davis (1823-1916); oval bust portraits of Parker and Davis; legend reads "For President / Alton B. Parker / 1904 / For Vice President / Henry G. Davis / 1904"; and reads "Good Government for the People" on streamer; red, white, blue and black colors; wooden frame with glass.

As the sitting president in 1904, Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919) honored the unspoken rule against open presidential participation in his campaign. Roosevelt was only the second vice president to become president. Considered one of the dullest presidential contests in history, Republican Roosevelt dominated the 1904 campaign, beating Democrat Alton B. Parker (1852-1926).
