Man in Grand Army of the Republic Hat and Uniform. Sepia-toned, half-length photograph of man in brimmed hat and coat. He has a white mustache and beard. On his hat, a patch with the text, "G. A. R." in calligraphic lettering surrounded by a half wreath. On PL side of breast of his jacket are two ribbon badges: one on PR has eagle at top, striped ribbon, and five-point star at bottom; PL one has pin bar at top, ribbon suspended, and four-petaled flower-shape pendant at bottom with "18" on it. Mounted on cardboard backing, with decorative white dots around edge; text at bottom, imprinted in white dots, reads "Glines/ Boston" on PR side and "503 WASHINGTON / Cor. WEST" [text cut off where corner is missing].
