Some World War I soldiers had unofficial tags made for themselves; this one calls out a fraternal organization as its owner's contact. Lieutenant C. O. Anderson had a tag specially engraved that requested: “In case of accident notify Valley City Lodge No. 402, of Water Valley, Mississippi.” He had joined the Masonic lodge in 1914.
