Sepia-tone cabinet card photograph of unidentified African American man, member of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. Bust photo of man who wears a fez and a white shirt with a tie and a dark coat. Pinned to his coat is a Shrine pin, a Shrine jewel and a Scottish Rite jewel. Photo is applied to a beige card with a scalloped edge and gold line. Stamped in gold along the bottom is "L.S. White Extra Finish 105 4th Ave. New York." A decorative border is printed on the back in brown. Printed in the center is "L.S. White, / Photographic / Studio / 105 Fourth Ave., / Bet. 11th & 12th Sts. / New York. / Duplicates / Can Be Had At / Any Time." Handwritten in pencil on the back at the bottom is "James Reed / married mother's / half sister / Mary Martin."
