Brown electric shelf clock with rectangular stepped base and curved top. Front is decorated with stylized floral motif along edge and below face. Face is yellowed with black numbers. Has second hand. In black at top, below 12, is "Telechron." On the back is a button marked "Time Set," and a lever marked "Interruption Reset." A maker's nameplate is applied to the back and reads, in part, "Telechron / Electric Clock / Mod. M1 Ser. 376121 A / Warren Telechron Co. / Ashland, Mass, U.S.A." A brown electrical cord extends from bottom center of back.

Henry Ellis Warren (b. 1872) founded Warren Telechron Company in 1912 to produce battery-operated clocks. Soon he started manufacturing affordable clocks with electric motors. Surges and dips in home electricity at the time made electric clocks unreliable. Warren developed an alert for his clocks, a window that showed red as soon as power stopped. This let users know to check the clock’s accuracy against a watch or radio.
