a: Eqyptian Revival style Masonic lectern with an inclined book holder mounted atop a round pedestal supported by a carved and gilt eagle in the form of the insignia of the Supreme Council of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite; Egyptian Revival style pedestal is made from staves of alternating light and dark wood glued together and inlaid with miniature Masonic symbols; silver plaque is engraved all in capital letters, "Presented to / The Supreme Council / Sovereign Grand Inspectors General / of the Thirty-Third and Last Degree / of the Ancient Accepted Scottish / Rite of Freemasonry for the / Northern Masonic Jurisdiction / of the United States of America / on the Occasion of the / One Hundred and Nineteenth / Annual Meeting at Detroit / Michigan September Fifteenth / Nineteen Hundred Thirty-One / By the Brotherhood of / DeWitt Clinton Consistory / in the Valley of Grand / Rapids, Michigan / Made by / Century Furniture Company / and Associates / Design, Edgar A. Somes / Inlay, T.A. Conti. / Grand Rapids, Michigan"; b: curved footstool. (to fit in curve of base of lectern), covered with dark rose carpet (possibly not original?).
