Masonic Past Commander Jewel for J. Jacobsen with pocket insert. a: Gold (likely) jewel has rectangular pin bar at top with knight's head at top and decorative flourishes at sides; "J. JACOBSEN" carved on front. Suspended from pin bar via two short gold chains is a cast metal, openwork symbol featuring a black and white enamel shield at center with a red enamel passion cross on it; crossed swords behind and "PAST COMMANDER" in black enamel on a curved banner below. Suspended from this via two short gold chains is larger cast metal emblem in shape of passion cross with KT symbol at center (white enamel Maltese cross with cross through crown at center and "EMPIRE DEWITT CLINTON COMMANDERY" surrounding in gold lettering; below this on bottom leg of cross, an inverted V shape in black enamel with 9 gold stars along it; below this, a gold skull and crossbones. "K" on PR arm of cross, "T" on PL arm; radiating rays behind. On reverse, "E. C. / 1937" around arms of cross. b: Black imitation leather pocket insert is stiff, has "C.H. Wallbank Co. / West Roxbury, Mass." stamped on it in gold lettering, and additional strip of imitation leather sewn at top for holding pin bar of jewel.
