Masonic Shriner Tankard. Stoneware tankard is wider at base than at top, and has straight sides that flare slightly at base. It is painted orangey-brown all over, with the color light near the rim and gradually becoming darker towards the base. Rim is painted with gold metallic paint; the handle, in the shape of a dragon with four clawed feet and tail, is also covered with gold metallic paint. On the face opposite handle, there is a square panel featuring a painted illustration of a man wearing a turban and cape and holding a scimitar while riding a horse. Man's turban is green and red with a white plume, and his cape and pants are white with blue stripes; his horse is black, with a red, tasseled bridle, harness, and reins. In the background is a desert scene, with blue and pink sky above, two palm trees and a building at PL horizon, and sand below. Initials "AS" (possibly) in black at lower PR corner. Border of image is in burgundy paint, with rounded upper corners, and swirled bottom corners; bottom border curves outward. Underneath this, the burgundy painted text, "SEATTLE - "SMILE WITH NILE."". Along the outside of either side of panel, a green decorative leaf-like motif is painted. Bottom is white with clear glaze, and "2405" is carved near the edge opposite handle.
