Masonic York Rite Royal Arch Harding Purple & Gold Robe. Purple velvet robe with yellow satin trim (both likely synthetic) has Templar cross on PL sleeve. Band collar 1-1/2" wide is edged with wavy gold trim, likely synthetic; features gold-colored metal hook-and-eye closure at front. Eight pairs of gold-colored metal snaps run down the front opening, the underside of whose backings are stamped "HARDING". Shoulders of robe feature decorative strips of gathered yellow satin, which are edged with same gold trim as at neckband; they have a flat-bottomed V shape on either side of front and form a single V shape in the back; above, velvet fabric is worn almost completely bare up to and around neckband. Below horizontal seams on either side of chest, 3-3/8"-wide decorative yellow satin strips run vertically all the way down robe's opening, and around hem. Same decoration trims cuffs of sleeves, which are bell-shaped and full-length; on PL sleeve above elbow, a Templar cross in rust-colored velvet, likely cotton, is sewn on and trimmed with narrow yellow satin cording, likely synthetic. On shoulders of robe are 8 black-coated metal eye clasps (one of which has corresponding hook still hanging from it), 4 on front and 4 on back, indicating that robe is missing some of its original pieces; similarly, belt loops on either side of waist are empty. Lining is off-white cotton with black stripes; along front opening, it is grey cotton, and inside neckband, tan synthetic satin with a diagonal, striped texture. Square, two-compartment pocket inside PL chest lining. Label at back neckline is black with yellow embroidered text, "HARDING / UNIFORM & REGALIA CO. / 30 FRANKLIN ST. / BOSTON". Sewn-in shoulder pads are covered in same striped fabric as majority of lining. Small piece of white paper with "27598 8" stamped in black ink is attached to PR lining at chest with a safety pin.
