In May of 1908 hundreds of Odd Fellows from the state of Vermont met in Rutland. This meeting included seven Cantons, or groups, of Patriarchs Militant. On one of the days of the gathering, 250 Patriarchs Militant displayed their drill and marching skills over a mile-long parade route. Though the date of this photograph is not recorded, it may have been taken to commemorate this event.
