Two Masonic Scottish Rite Bowls. a: EXTERIOR: Round, low bowl has slightly flared base, thick walls, and rounded sides. Dark blue glaze overall, except for triangular section at front which is unglazed and white; it bears raised SR emblem of double-headed eagle gripping a sword in its talons with a square and compasses with a "G" on its breast, and a "32" glazed in blue above; below emblem, the raised text "Asheville". On white, unglazed bottom, a raised maker's mark of a figure making a pot on a potter's wheel is surrounded by the raised text "Pisgah" (to PR, angled upward) and "Forest" (to PL, angled downward) above, and "1942" below. INTERIOR: Glazed with pink glaze; bottom surface has rough, cottonball-shaped impressions over most of it. b: EXTERIOR: Round, low bowl has slightly flared base, thick walls, and rounded sides. Dark blue glaze overall, except for triangular section at front which is unglazed and white; it bears raised SR emblem of double-headed eagle gripping a sword in its talons with a square and compasses with a "G" on its breast, and a "32" glazed in blue above; below emblem, the raised text "Asheville". On white, unglazed bottom, a raised maker's mark of a figure making a pot on a potter's wheel is surrounded by the raised text "Pisgah" (to PR, angled upward) and "Forest" (to PL, angled downward) above, and "1942" below. INTERIOR: Glazed with pink glaze; bottom surface has smooth texture, as well as a few dots of blue glaze on it.
