Grand Master Apron worn by Thomas Sherrard Roy, Grand Master of Massachusetts. Square body with white leather center and purple silk border. Purple border is edged with gold trim. Applied in the white center is a gold bullion sun with glass eyes. Purple false ties hang from top center. The border has gold bullion wheat, leaf and flower motifs. Triangular purple flap with the same gold trim as the border. Gold bullion floral spray trims the flap. Gold bullion fringe along sides and bottom of body, as well as bottom edge of flap. Purple silk backing. Bound along the top edge in purple, which extends on each side to form ties. The ties each have part of a metal clasp at the end. Maker's label is sewn on the back along the bottom edge.

Thomas Sherrard Roy was Grand Master of Massachusetts from 1951 to 1953. In the mid-1970s, he wrote a history of the Grand Lodge, "Stalwart Builders."
