Originally established in 1920 as a radio manufacturer, Crosley Radio Corporation grew to become a major electronics concern. Founder Powel Crosley (1886-1961) loved to invent new products. He is credited with innovations such as the first car radio, a 1940s fax machine, and the first portable television. This stylish clock produced by his company told the time, played the radio and also served as a timer for a coffee maker or other kitchen appliance.
