Masonic Order of the Eastern Star McDonald Chapter No. 119 District B signature quilt. Thirty embroidered blocks showing old cars in black, blue, green, yellow, pink, red and brown on white ground. Signatures embroidered under each car, usually with office title and some with dates. Red lattice border. One white outer border embroidered with member signatures in green, blue, purple, pink, orange, yellow, brown and red. White backing; bound in red, applied bias. Embroidered in red at bottom center: "Presented to / Sister Myrtle Jackson / Worthy Grand Matron / by / McDonald Chapter 119 / District 6B / March 5, 1953." Lattice quilted with cable motif, outer border quilted with parallel chevrons one inch apart and car blocks are crosshatched with lines one inch apart. Blocks are roughly 7 1/2 inches or 8 inches square, lattice is 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 inches wide, border is 10 3/4 inches wide on two sides and 11 1/2 inches wide on two sides. Hand quilted at 8 stitches per inch. Thin cotton batting.
