Masonic Order of the Eastern Star crazy quilt. Foundation pieced in solid and patterned silks and rayons in purple, blue, green, maroon, peach, black and other colors. Composed of four horizontal strips with no lattice. Embroidered around the edges of the pieces in a herringbone stitch in contrasting colors. Two outer borders are maroon and blue. Same embroidery stitch along the edge of the borders. Red backing is pulled to the front as binding. Tied on back with red thread. At the center is a five-point star in Eastern Star colors. To the left "1952" is embroidered in black. To the right "1953" is embroidered in blue. Below the star, "Myrtle M. Jackson" is embroidered in light green. Below this, in the next row, "Worthy Grand Matron," is embroidered in light green on a piece of pink fabric.
