Order of Amaranth Trivet or Tile. OBVERSE: White, square glazed stoneware tile features Order of the Amaranth emblem at center (crown in center with 5-point star above and horizontal sword below, wreath of holly surrounding with red bow at base); design is outlined with thin lines of black ink; crown, star, and sword infilled with golden yellow paint; holly infilled with green paint; ribbon infilled with red paint. Across ribbon, "O / OF / A" handwritten in black ink. At PL bottom edge of wreath, "THS" handwritten in black ink. Each side of square tile features a straight line of red paint running along its border, 1/4" away from it; these lines run the entire length of each side, crossing each other perpendicularly at each corner. REVERSE: White unglazed stoneware features three raised rectangular sections oriented vertically; these sections have sharply delineated vertical edges and horizontal edges which curve downward gently to lower surface of tile. In two sections between raised areas, there is raised, vertically-oriented text: on PR side, "54 [series of raised dots] WHEELING"; on PL side, "8" within one side of a circle that is divided with a straight bar, "1" [perpendicular to other text in orientation), "CUSHION REG". At top of middle raised rectangular section is text handwritten in black ink: "From- / H. L. Anna B. Philips / Grand Royal Matron / O. of A. / 1955-56". Sides of tile unglazed.
