Masonic District Deputy Grand Master Jewel; a: Masonic Grand Lodge of Massachusetts gold Jewel; clasp pin bar with scroll motif reads "GRAND LODGE/ MASSACHUSETTS"; inner suspension from two eyelets is script monogram "ARM [??]"; two outer chains run to second suspension engraved oval with top flourishes; compass and arc appear on top; reverse reads "PRESENTED TO/ RT. WOR. ALEXANDER R. MACLEOD, D.D.S.M./ by CORINTHIAN LODGE/ CONCORD MASS./ JAN. 14, 1957"; b: black leather case with four fold flaps and single snap with purple silk lining; interior flap reads "PRINCE-COTTER CO./ LOWELL MASS"; exterior flap reads "RT. WOR. ALEXANDER MACLEOD, JR."


Lodge officers wear symbolic emblems of their positions, called jewels, during meetings. A. Robert MacLeod, Jr., wore this one when he served as District Deputy Grand Master of the Lowell, Massachusetts, #12 District in 1957.
