Maroon and gold wool Lowell DeMolay jacket with silk lining. FRONT: Brushed maroon wool; pointed collar has yellow satin lining on underside. Snap front closure with eight yellow plastic-coated snaps; cuffs and hem are of thick woven elastic material in maroon with double yellow stripes; each shoulder has inset strip of thick woven elastic material that is maroon and yellow striped. Affixed to PL breast is large fabric DeMolay patch (gold crown with red lining and white and red dots; crossed swords behind and knight's helmet above; within crown is a 10-pointed white star with yellow trim and a black circle with a gold crescent moon, 10 stars, and an outer edging of dots at its center). Welt pockets trimmed with shiny yellow cording and lined with cream-colored wool. Inside PL pocket, white cotton tag sewn in with faded, handwritten "42" in ink. BACK: Brushed maroon wool, striped shoulder inserts; in cursive script, "Lowell / DeMolay" embroidered in gold thread. LINING: Yellow satin lining with inner pockets edged with shiny maroon cording and lined with cream-colored wool; inner PR pocket has cotton tag sewn in with a handwritten "1" in ink on it; there are numerous bluish-green ink stains outside inner PL pocket.
