George Washington; 1/2-size bronze sculpture of George Washington in Masonic garb;

This is a half-size replica of a statue commissioned by the Grand Lodge of Louisiana in 1959. According to the sculptor, Donald DeLue, the museum's sculpture is based on the "original model from which the large one was made.” The Stichter family gave the statue to the museum in memory of Wayne E. Stichter, the Grand Lieutenant Commander of the Supreme Council and the Scottish Rite Deputy for Ohio. Stichter had served as Vice President of the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library before he died in 1977.
