Masonic Scottish Rite 33rd Degree Vase. Clay vase has light blue glaze and white slip decoration, including, on front of neck, a Scottish Rite double-headed eagle emblem with a black "33" on its breast, and on back of neck, a double cross. Just below widest point of vase, a straight line with text above and below it encircles the vase: above line: "To my Good Friend and Brother Dr. S. S. Fay 33° [with "33" in black]"; below line: "Stephen - 1959". Interior has clear glaze. Bottom unglazed, with four hashmarks with a line through them near one edge, and a partially legible maker's mark at center, likely reading "STEPHEN / LONGPINE / ARDEN, N.C."
