7 Masonic Scottish Rite Postage Meter Plates with 2 paper samples and bag. Seven dark-brown, red ink-stained metal rectangular plates, curved so that faces (that bear text) are convex; used for stamping metered mail from Scottish Rite, they bear various texts indicating addresses, meter numbers, and slogans (e.g., "SCOTTISH RITE / Pioneer in Coordinated / Mental Illness / Research Since 1934", etc.). Included in labelled plastic bag bearing usage instructions are two paper samples, one larger and one smaller, which bear results of stamping in red ink. a: Grey metal plate with convex surface which bears raised text, "SCOTTISH RITE / Pioneer in Coordinated / Mental Illness / Research Since 1934" (in reverse); metal plate with text is fused to thicker metal plate below it, and has cut-out sections between "SCOTTISH" and "RITE" as well as along sides where "Mental" and "Illness" appear; some red ink stains remain. On back, thick loop for attaching to machine. b: Grey metal plate with convex surface which bears raised text, "SCOTTISH RITE / Pioneer in Coordinated / Mental Illness / Research Since 1934" (in reverse); metal plate with text is fused to thicker metal plate below it, and has cut-out section along side where "Mental" appears; red ink stains remain over almost all of surface. "FRONT" stamped into bottom side; on back, thick loop for attaching to machine. c: Grey metal plate with convex surface which bears raised text, "SCOTTISH RITE / Pioneer in Coordinated / Mental Illness / Research Since 1934" (in reverse); metal plate with text is fused to thicker metal plate below it, and has small cut-out sections along sides where "Mental" and "Illness" appear; small amount of red ink stain remains, mostly around edges of letters. "FRONT" stamped into bottom side; on back, thick loop for attaching to machine. d: Grey metal plate with convex surface which bears raised text, "SCOTTISH RITE / Pioneer in Coordinated / Mental Illness / Research Since 1934" (in reverse); metal plate with text is fused to thicker metal plate below it, and has cut-out sections on outsides of "SCOTTISH" and "RITE" as well as outside "Mental" and "Illness"; significant red ink stains remain over all of surface. "FRONT" stamped into bottom side; on back, thick loop for attaching to machine. e: Grey metal plate with convex surface which bears raised text, "NEW ADDRESS / P.O. BOX 519 / LEXINGTON, MASS / 02173" (in reverse); metal plate with text is fused to thicker metal plate below it, and has cut-out sections on outsides of text; some red ink stains remain around letters. "FRONT" stamped into bottom side; on back, thick loop for attaching to machine. f: Grey metal plate with convex surface which bears raised text, "150th ANNIVERSARY / 1813-1963 / NORTHERN MASONIC JURISDICTION, USA" with a Princes of Jersusalem emblem on the PL end (all in reverse). Red ink stains throughout; ridges along top of face. "FRONT" stamped into bottom side; on back, thick loop for attaching to machine. g: Grey metal plate with convex surface which bears three raised emblems: Scottish Rite double-headed eagles, square and compasses with a G, and delta with Hebrew letter inside (all in reverse). Red ink stains throughout; ridges along top of face. "FRONT" stamped into bottom side; on back, thick loop for attaching to machine. h: Plastic bag for storing plates; bears instructions for use on front in black text over white background. i: Paper sheet with stamp samples on it in red ink.
