Emil Cruz in Group of Masonic Officers. Black and white photograph of Emil Cruz and 18 other members of Schiller Lodge No., 263. Men in tuxedos, white gloves, and Masonic aprons, in room with curtains on either side, two framed pictures just visible on back wall, and geometric-patterned carpet on floor. Men are arranged in three rows (front row seated, back two standing), with man at center of seated row in top hat holding gavel. Typed at bottom in white, "SCHILLER LODGE No. 263, F. & A.M. / 1967 OFFICERS - FRANK BUERKLE, W. M.". Back plain white with no markings.


This item belonged to Emil Cruz. Cruz (1904–1983), born in the Philippines, emigrated to the United States in 1924 at the age of 19 and eventually worked as a jeweler. He was a member of Schiller Lodge No. 263 and Damascus Commandery No. 42, both located in Detroit.
