Seated at a desk at center is a man [Massachusetts Governor Francis W. Sargent] wearing a pinstriped suitcoat, white shirt and dark tie. He holds a pen and is signing a certificate. Standing on one side is a man wearing a suitcoat, white shirt and tie, along with a Masonic Shrine fez. The fez reads, "Aleppo / Potentate." A Shrine badge is pinned to the man's coat. A second man stands on the other side and also wears a dark suitcoat, white shirt and dark tie. He wears a Masonic Shrine fez that reads, "Aleppo / Recorder." The photograph is signed in black at the bottom, "With Best Wishes / Francis W. Sargent / Governor."
