Masonic Gravestone Rubbing of the stone of Major John Farrar; Masonic motifs on top include all-seeing eye, sun, moon, stars, square and compasses, trowel, acacia branch, coffin, and "15"; reads "Sacred/ to the memory of Major John Farrar, who/ departed this Life Jany 15th 1793/ in the 52nd year of his age/ Farewell vain world, I've had enough of thee/ And now I'm careless what thous ayst of me/ The Faults Thou saws'st in the take to soun/ There'w work within thyself that must be done/ Near this place lie the remains of/ son and 6 dauthters of the above named person and Mrs. hannah his wife. Patty May 7th, 1767; John Sept 16, 1770; Luch April 20, 1771; Lucy died May 1, 1773; Polly June 26, 1774; Hannah Sept 7, 1778; Releaf April 4, 1778. Weep not for us, dry up your tears, We must lie here till Christ appears"; signed on bottom "Shrewsbury, Mass S & F Youngren."
