Masonic York Rite Grand Council Royal and Select Master's Past Thrice Illustrious Master Apron. Apron has overall rectangular shape and triangular flap. Off-white satin (likely synthetic) body with purple velvet (likely synthetic) bands along edges, trimmed with yellow fringe. Flap features purple embroidered York Rite emblem (full delta with broken delta and trowel within); body features yellow embroidered Past Thrice Illustrious Master's emblem, and false ties on either side which have gold chain fringe. On PR side, adjustable purple ribbon with gold serpent shaped clasp on end; on PL side, hook for clasp and short purple cord with tassel. On reverse, purple satin (likely synthetic) lining; white rectangular manufacturer's label at top center has purple embroidered text, "[stylized large M inside square of dotted lines] [M]ACOY PUBLISHING / AND / [M]ASONIC SUPPLY CO. / INC / RICHMOND, VA.".


This item belonged to Emil Cruz. Cruz (1904–1983), born in the Philippines, emigrated to the United States in 1924 at the age of 19 and eventually worked as a jeweler. He was a member of Schiller Lodge No. 263 and Damascus Commandery No. 42, both located in Detroit.
