Museum of Our National Heritage Trowel; silver trowel enscribed "TROWEL USED AT / CORNERSTONE LAYING / SCOTTISH RITE / MASONIC MUSEUM AND LIBRARY / MARCH 10TH 1974 / M.W. DONALD W. VOSE GRAND MASTER / OF MASONS IN MASSACHUSETTS."


Freemasons used this trowel in the ceremonial cornerstone laying for the Museum of Our National Heritage. Scottish Rite Freemasons of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction built the museum as a bicentennial gift to the American people. Since it opened in 1975, over a million people and school children have enjoyed its exhibitions, library, concerts, lectures, and public programs.
