Lady Liberty Lights the Way quilt. Hand and machine pieced; hand-appliqued; hand-quilted; machine-assembled. An appliqued Statue of Liberty is applied to a pieced beige ground representing Liberty Island. Extending from the corners of the ground is an enlarged version of the Statue's corona. The corona is green and is appliqued on a blue and lavendar ground. Yellow elements represent her torch at sides. Outer blue-green border. Poly batting. Backed with off-white muslin. Straight-applied binding made from blue-green polka dot print. Quilting mirrors the design with half circles, chevrons, diamond crosshatching and outlines; 1886 and 1986 are quilted at the base of the Statue.
