Masonic Scottish Rite Sovereign Grand Commander's Distinguished Service Medal Proof. Badge has gold-colored metal rectangular pin bar at top with "SCOTTISH / RITE" stamped on its face; blue ribbon suspended below; suspended from ribbon by two o-rings is gold-colored metal medallion with raised Salem cross (?) at center, and "SOVEREIGN GRAND COMMANDER'S MEDAL / DISTINGUISHED SERVICE" around edge. On reverse, ribbon wraps around upper and lower edges of pin bar which is of gold-colored metal with hinged pin through it; medallion has raised text, "Supreme Council, 33° / AASR, NMJ, USA" above two plain, raised rectangles (upper one longer than lower one) upon which recipient's name, etc., could be carved.
