Circular medal composed of copper-colored metal. On obverse, around edge with light blue infill surrounding is the raised, black enamel-infilled text, "St. JOHN'S LODGE in NEWBURY PORT. 1766"; at center, shield with black background and three red enamel-infilled castles around yellow chevron with compasses within; shield is flanked by a pair of seals (possibly) with a sea gull above; banner with light blue infill reading "FOLLOW REASON" below. On reverse, around edge, black enamel-infilled text, "250th Anniversary / 1766-2016; at center, plastic-coated, multicolored design showing man holding quill within circle with a white broken column to its PR and a square and compasses to its PL; the black text, "St. John's Lodge" is above, and two banners with the text "INSTITUTED" [possibly, text is fairly illegible] / JULY 17 [possibly], 1766".
