Masonic "Welcome Visitor" Ribbon Badge, Schiller Lodge. Purple ribbon badge has off-white, rectangular paper nametag at top bearing the black typed text, "Emil Cruz / SENIOR WARDEN / SCHILLER 263"; nametag has a clear plastic sleeve over it which hangs down several inches along the back of the ribbon. Satin (likely synthetic fiber) ribbon bears silver stamped text, "SCHILLER / LODGE / No. 263 / F. & A. M. / [square and compasses with a G at center]. Bottom of ribbon cut in chevron shape. On reverse, white rectangular paper label adhered with the blue printed text, "THOMAS SMITH, JR. CO. / PRIZE RIBBONS & ROSETTES / CELLULOID BUTTONS / Trophies--We Do Our Own Engraving / 114 W. 7 Mile Rd., Detroit, Mich. 48203 / Phone: 366-1050".


This item belonged to Emil Cruz. Cruz (1904–1983), born in the Philippines, emigrated to the United States in 1924 at the age of 19 and eventually worked as a jeweler. He was a member of Schiller Lodge No. 263 and Damascus Commandery No. 42, both located in Detroit.
