US"; circular brass alarm; movement: eight day, twin fusee power; time, strike, and alarum movement; b: winding key; c: pendulum; d-g: four turned wood finials.

Entrepreneur Jonathan C. Brown produced shelf clocks with brass movements at his factory. For a few years in the mid-1800s he produced more brass clocks than any other business in Bristol, the center of clockmaking in Connecticut.
