Masonic York Rite Royal Arch Captain of Outpost Cape. Black velvet cape, likely synthetic, hangs to knee length. Trimmed with gold-colored metallic thread in swirling pattern along opening and around hem. Plain round neckline is trimmed with white rope, likely cotton, whose ends hang down to slightly above hemline when untied; tips are tied off with bands of thread and hang loose from there. Eight-inch square Maltese cross of off-white velvet, likely cotton, is sewn onto PL chest; it is embroidered with squiggly lines of white thread, likely synthetic, and trimmed with same white thread in looping pattern. Lining is of black cotton. Two labels sewn in at back neckline: upper one is black and bears yellow embroidered text, "THE HENDERSON AMES CO. KALAMAZOO MICH / MILITARY AND SOCIETY GOODS"; lower one is white with "CAPTAIN OF OUTPOST" typed in black ink.
