Masonic Shrine Fez, Pyramid Shrine (Bridgeport, CT), Legion of Honor with inner support mold and raincover. a: EXTERIOR: Maroon-colored wool (likely) Masonic Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Legion of Honor fez with black tassel. Across front, reads "PYRAMID" in iridescent plastic (likely) round gems surrounded by white bezels; letters also edged in gold bullion. Below this, a Shrine symbol (scimitar, tiger's claw, and star) in same plastic gems as word above, but including red and green ones; emblem is edged with small off-white synthetic (likely) pearls and features a cast, gold-colored metal Sphinx head painted with yellow, green, blue, white, and red. Below emblem, the words, "LEGION OF HONOR" in same iridescent gems, though not surrounded by bullion but rather backed with a gold plastic backing whose edge is formed to resemble bullion. Tassel strings are held close to fez at top with gold brooch in shape of Shrine emblem, with colorless, round glass (likely) gems along claws, and red, yellow, green, white, and blue enamel above and below Sphinx head, and the gold text, "LEGION / OF / HONOR" in center. Body of tassel held to fez by another brooch, this one a double chain of colorless, likely glass gems with a larger, round glass gem at either end. a: INTERIOR: Brown vinyl sweatband, 1-1/2" wide, lines rim. Sewn to one side is a rectangular panel of red satin (likely synthetic) with the name, "V. K. Crozier" embroidered on it in yellow thread, in cursive lettering. Opposite that, an off-white, rectangular, synthetic fabric sticker is applied, which is stamped with black text: "[stylized logo to upper PR]: DT & CO. [vertical dividing line, then on upper PL]: 6 5/8 / D. Turin & Co., Florida". b: White plastic mold has same overall shape of fez. Its top has four trapezoid-shaped holes around one central circular hole; its sides are made up of eight (8) straight, flat "legs". On the inside of one leg, there is a rectangular yellow sticker with black print: "ANTHONY NIZZARDINI / MASONIC SUPPLY CO. / 175-5th Ave. New York, N. Y. 10010" / (212) 254-6048" and black chevron-like decorations at either end. c: Clear, colorless flexible plastic raincover has same shape as fez. Seam along one side; white thread.
