DeMolay Shirt and Robe. a: Grey shirt, likely cotton, with red passion cross on front center. Boat-shaped neckline has 1-1/2" wide band from which material hangs in gathers. Cross of red wool felt 12-1/4"h x 7-13/16"w. Raglan sleeves are full-length and bell-shaped. Knee-length overall. Black label, likely synthetic sewn inside back neckline has text embroidered in gold thread, "THE C. E. WARD CO. / NEW LONDON, OHIO / ◊◊◊ 3 ◊◊◊"; underneath this is sewn a white tag with text typed in black ink, "JACQUES DEMOLAY". b: Black sleeveless robe of polyester/cotton blend has nehru collar. Metal zipper closure down front ends 8-1/2" above hem and has silver pull tab; hook-and-eye fastener at neckline is of black-coated metal. Sewn inside front zipper seam at chest level on PR side is white tag, likely synthetic, bearing text embroidered in yellow thread: "THE C. E. WARD CO. / NEW LONDON, OHIO". Underneath this are sewn two white synthetic tags, the top reading "DATEX / 65% DACRON / POLYESTER / 35% COTTON" in purple type, then "THE C. E. WARD CO. / NEW LONDON, OHIO" in black ink; the bottom bears "THE C. E. WARD CO. / NEW LONDON, OHIO / Hgt. Wgt. Collar Cht. / Lgth. 57" Ins. Waist / Order No. Style [89]" stamped in black ink (numbers are handwritten and faded).
